Best overall choice for a Tenere 700
1. Packaging:
The first thing you notice is the way all parts are individually packaged and labeled and canister wrapped in special foam with additional foam lining the inside of the box, leaving a great first impression and the feeling that someone really cares about this product.
2. Quality:
Fit and finish is as good or better than another certain pipe costing hundreds of dollars more ( I probably don't have to mention the name). Plus, some other pipes require you to use the existing gasket and heat shield, providing the gasket is still usable and is able to be extracted from the original pipe ($15 OEM Yamaha part) The LV connecting pipe is perfectly machined to fit the 700 header diameter, eliminating the need for the gasket. LV also uses a carbon strap method (superior) to attach the pipe to the frame hanger and everything lines up perfectly.
3. Sound:
The sound can be described as intelligent... no louder than stock, but with a much more mellow, pleasing base note. If you're still eighteen years old, pull the db reducer.
Loud pipes don't save lives, or ears for that matter, and there is possibly a REDUCTION in performance in some cases.
4. Follow up:
The direction sheet needs some updating and was bit confusing ( there were Tenere 700 models listed not sold in the U.S.) and required some minor extrapolation, as we have all had to do from time to time. Other than that, there were two areas that needed some attention, again minor. One being to OPEN the carbon strap rather than SLIDING it onto the canister (at least on the black edition), otherwise it will scratch the finish. The other being not including an 8mm fender washer for the inner side of the frame hanger grommet, least for a 2024 Tenere 700. The instructions have you threading the hanger bolt nut into the rubber. No deal breakers here!
Plus, the cool sticker sheet, spring puller tool and official ID card with serial #/warranty info and real phone support make it unbeatable.
