An unfortunate end to a promising #ARGENTINAGP for Lowes

Sam Lowes’s Argentine Grand Prix drew to an early close with 18 laps to go, as the Briton suffered a low-side at turn seven which took away all hopes and expectations for a possible good race result at Termas de Rio Hondo. From the third slot of the front row, Lowes had a good start, although he made a small mistake and went wide at turn one.

The standard bearer of Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 was running in sixth place in the early moments of the encounter before successfully overtaking Thomas Luthi, but after the aforementioned crash the former World Champion could not re-join the encounter.

This surely represents a wasted opportunity for Lowes, who had the speed to battle at the front of the field. In less than two weeks, however, Moto2 action will resume at Austin in Texas, and Sam will do his utmost to turn things around.

N.C. – SAM LOWES #22

“I feel sorry for the team, because this is my first mistake in many races. It’s too bad, because I feel we could have battled for the win or at least for the podium. I think I went just a little too wide and crashed when I touched the throttle. This track doesn’t get used much so going off line can be very costly. But we’ll be ready for Austin.”
